Mobile internet as a part of Twilight DVD-release

How Egmont and Nordisk Film presented information and media via the mobile for 400 dedicated fans on a DVD release party.

The challenge
Prior to the official DVD-launch of the vampire blockbuster Twilight, the Norwegian distributor Nordisk Film/Egmont invited almost 400 dedicated fans to a special Twilight release party on Rockefeller Music Hall. To use mobile technology as a mean to create a night to remember for hardcore Twilight fans.

The solution
When arriving at Rockefeller Music Hall, all guests were encouraged to text TWILIGHT to 2025. In return, they received an sms with a wap-link, linking them to a Twilight mobile internet site where they could enjoy info about the movie, trailers, pictures, and mobile coupons. View the site on your mobile at m.twilightsagaen.no.

The results
The initiative was highly appreciated by the target group, and – without going into detail - the number of unique visitors that night corresponded well with the number of people attending the party. Just as interesting, when analyzing the traffic regarding the mobile internet site later on, we experienced a peak the day after around 12 a.m, clearly indicating that the people who had attended the party were acting as good “Twilight ambassadors”, showing the mobile site to friends and colleagues during lunch break.
