Scandinavian debut of More Mobile Relations
20080326 in Press releases by More Mobile RelationsToday marks the launch of a new Scandinavian mobile marketing agency. More Mobile Relations is established and majority owned by Telenor. It begins operating immediately following the acquisition of Active Loop Marketing in Norway and N’volve in Denmark. The company aims to be the most attractive partner for building relationship by mobile phone in Scandinavia.
Active Loop Marketing + N’volve = More Mobile Relations
Telenor is launching More Mobile Relations by acquiring two cutting-edge companies in Norway and Denmark. In Norway, Telenor acquired Active Loop Marketing, and in Denmark, N’volve. Telenor is the majority shareholder of More, the remaining shares of which are held by the founders of the acquired companies. Active Loop Marketing and N’volve are already helping companies and organizations transition from mass communications to relationship building via mobile phone. It could be SMS that notifies you when you receive packages at your local post office, current information via Bluetooth about a ski resort you frequent, or an opportunity to join the mobile fan club of your football team.
“Active Loop Marketing has established itself very quickly, already reporting strong growth and attracting exciting customers. The More identity strengthens our international network significantly, which favours our customers and collaboration partners both inside and outside our national borders. With Telenor as our owner, we enjoy access to unique expertise in mobile technology and user behaviour”,
says Steinar Brændeland, president of More Mobile Relations Norway.
From mobile marketing to mobile relations
While the market is still immature, the future of marketing is definitely mobile. In Scandinavia, there are as many mobility subscriptions as there are people, and mobile Internet is well established. However, to be fully accepted, mobile marketing must be relevant at the right time and the right place and demand-driven.
More Mobile Relations offers comprehensive solutions for advertisers and other actors who want to use this technology to build relationships with their customers or members. It is founded on a thorough understanding of the mobile phone as communication tool and media channel. Its services include mobile campaigns, CRM solutions, mobile training programmes, mobile in-store and arena concepts, and a number of other interactive solutions.
“More has lofty aims – we want to be the most attractive partner in mobile relationships in Scandinavia. The reason for our self-confidence is that we have exciting customers and successful operations, from the companies we have acquired, right from the start. The combination of that creativity and Telenor’s telecom expertise and unique insights into mobile usage creates a truly effective offering”,
says Tom Lindberg, president of the More Mobile Relations Group.
Increased openness to mobile marketing
Consumers’ attitudes to practical mobile services have reached a breakthrough point. Many people have discovered how the mobile phone is often the most practical tool for communicating with service suppliers such as banks, travel agencies and public institutions. A new study conducted by Telenor and More shows that nearly two-thirds of Swedish, Norwegian and Danish mobile users are in favour of using their mobile phone as a channel for practical information between themselves and various providers. Receptivity toward mobile advertising is also increasing: more than one-third are in favour of advertisingoriented services such as coupons and offers from travel agencies and shopping centres.
“We are now seeing how mobile Internet is proliferating and creating new needs in consumers. We are also seeing an increased interest in mobile marketing services. This creates exciting business opportunities for Telenor. Mobile marketing in Scandinavia is still in its infancy – however, we see an opportunity for More to take a comprehensive approach and build the market”,
says Christian Ursin Holm, vice president of New Business, Telenor ASA.
