Giving something back
As the main sponsor of Dreamhack, the world’s biggest LAN party, Telia wanted to connect directly with the fans and give something to them. A ticket from Telia to Dreamhack means a comfier chair, faster connection and of course – and most important of all – better ping! So what’s the best way of giving out 60 tickets to a niche event?

Latency kills the game
All gamers know the network response time or ”ping” is very important when playing games online. They measure it constantly! What happens if we reverse it - and measure the latency of the gamers instead?
Well ping you right back, buddy!
Said and done – we set up an SMS based contest where the players who responded the fastest to a ”ping” could win a ticket to Dreamhack. And they responded, in thousands. After a weeks competition and a lot of activity on Facebook we had 60 very happy winners. And one very happy client.
